About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to join a well-established nursery in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated childcare professional with strong leadership skills who is ready to step up or continue growing in a senior management role.

As Deputy Manager, you will support the Nursery Manager in overseeing the daily running of the setting, ensuring high-quality care and education for all children, and maintaining compliance with Ofsted and EYFS standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate staff to deliver outstanding childcare and education.
• Ensure all safeguarding, health & safety, and compliance requirements are met.
• Assist with staff training, appraisals, and recruitment.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with children, parents, carers, and external agencies.
• Ensure the nursery consistently meets and exceeds EYFS and Ofsted standards.
• Step up in the absence of the Nursery Manager, taking full responsibility for the setting.

Requirements

✔ Minimum Level 3 Childcare qualification (essential)
✔ At least 2–3 years’ experience working in a nursery setting
✔ Minimum 1 year of Deputy Manager (or equivalent leadership) experience
✔ Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and Ofsted requirements
✔ Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
✔ Passionate about delivering high standards of early years education and care
